A New Adventure Coming Our Way

On January 4, 2012 Wayne took a new job position in the SunRoc Company as the new Manager of Sand and Gravel up North (Spanish Fork Area). To give you an idea of the promotion - Wayne was over about 5-10 guys, a wash plant and a crushers, Now he is over about 100 guys, 40 trucks, 3 full pits and a gypsum mine. Kinda an exciting jump for him- he said he is excited to start using his brain. He got a nice raise, new phone, new work truck, new office, and a new credit card (this is weird for him- he can just take his clients out for lunch, just a new world basically to get used to). He started up North the next day- His official starting date is the 9th but there were business meetings going on he needed to be involved with so he went straight up. It has been pretty overwhelming for him- there is alot of work that needs to be done up there and it all now lays on his shoulders but he is excited for the challenge and I know he will do great job.

As of moving, we can't yet. Which is making things kinda difficult but do-able. When we bought our home here in Cedar we received a First time home buyer credit of $8000. There was a stipulation that came with the money- we had to live in that home as our main residency for 3 years. Well 3 years is up in May. Since we don't have the money to pay it back the boys and I will stay here until May and Wayne will come home on the weekends. This allows John and Taylor to finish out there school years and my commitment to do the Yearbook for John's school. I also will be able to continue helping with Hollie's fundraiser too. It also gives us time to look for a home up North. So in the end it will be good- just hard through the process.

I am so excited for Wayne to have received this promotion. I know he deserved it and will do an amazing job. Its really hard to leave family and to be leaving Cedar City- it is our home, but I know we can make a new home up North. It is just the next adventure to be facing in our lives. Here we come!

Chore Chart

So I made my first attempt at a chore chart for the kiddos. I think it turned out really well. I have a picture of each of there jobs on the board- each day they complete there job they put a pin under it to mark it done. I also added a reward chart for good behavior. On the side there is a row of stars. If I catch the boys doing something the first time I ask or being really nice to there brother than I have them move there star up - when they get to the top they earn a reward. John actually prayed last night that he would be better at doing things the first time he was asked- so hopefully its working. lol.

Merry Christmas! You know I am still amazed that Christmas is already here. The years continue to go faster and faster.

Wayne- decided this year that he should go back to school. He is now working towards his MBA and is just slightly busy with going to school full time, working full time, serving as Elders Quorum Presidents, & being dad and hubby. I don’t know how he manages it but he is doing an amazing job at all of them. He still works for SunRoc as the Forman of the Cedar City Sand and Gravel Division. We are grateful they have been so willing to work with him so he could attend school.

Teona – Well one of the biggest things I faced this year was a huge stone in my gall bladder. After months of many doctors, many tests, & lots of pain, we figured out what was wrong and I had surgery on June 8th. What a relief to finally start feeling better- you sure recognize the blessing of health when you don’t have it. At the beginning of this month I was able to participate in the “Expedition” a 50 mile relay race in St. George. I was on a 5 person team and ran 2 legs of the race. My legs added up to 6.5 miles. I am so proud of myself for running this because the most I had trained for was 3 miles. One of my hobbies these days is a game called “Pickleball” if you don’t know what it is, Google it, and if you have a chance to play- DO IT! I love it! I have played in a few tournaments with my partner and we have done really well. I am on the PTA board at John’s school as the Yearbook Advisor and am loving being involved in all the fun events at the school. I am serving as a Sharing Time Specialist in our Ward. I do a sharing time in the Primary once a month. I love this calling because I love to teach and I love the Primary. Other than that I am home with the boys running the house.

John turned six this year and started first grade. He loves school and is doing an amazing job. He is reading on a second grade level and just absorbs everything he is taught. He shocks me daily with his smarts. The other day he asked for some milk and I told him he could have some if he could spell it. He spelled it m-i-l-k-e. I said “no, if it was spelled like that it would be pronounced milkee” John’s response was “actually you would have to add an adjacent E to make it spell milkee.” REALLY! I could not believe that my six year old was using the word adjacent and in the right way! I know he isn’t getting those smarts from me- I have to thank his dad and his teacher for that. John loves video games! He loves to play the Wii and Plants Vs. Zombies on the computer. His new favorite game is Angry Birds but we don’t have it at home so he will convince anyone that has it to let him play- even at our Ward Christmas party last week.  He also loves to exercise-whether it’s a work out video, running around at the park, or playing sports. I think he is going to be a personal trainer when he grows up.

Taylor turned 3 this year and started preschool! He loves it and is doing a really good job! He can already write his name by himself, and he loves to do it over and over and over again. He loves to drive cars around, play the Wii, Plants Vs. Zombies, Angry Birds, color, water paint, play with Playdoh, and watch movies. He also LOVES to talk on the phone to whomever I am talking to. He is growing up so fast! He will be moving into Primary next month! The Primary had him come in for singing time on Sunday and it was so cute to see him in there, I am so excited for him. He wants so badly to be big like his brother! I keep warning John that when he does grow big- he better watch out because my guess is Taylor is going to be bigger than John and there might be some retaliation for all the teasing he does to Taylor. Taylor is so anxious for soccer to start so he can play like John. I have kicked the ball around with Taylor and he is actually REALLY good at soccer- so it should be fun to get him started this next year.

We are so grateful for the blessings we received this year, for our wonderful friends and family, and for the Gospel. Thank you for your love and support you always send our way-it’s more appreciated than you probably know. We hope you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Please don’t forget what this season is really about- the birth and life of our Savior, Jesus Christ. We challenge you to try and give Him a gift this season. It could be serving others, obeying a commandment, forgiving someone or thanking someone for something they did or said that inspired you. Don’t forget “Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren ye have done it unto me” –Matt 25:10

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween! I can't believe Halloween has come and gone already! The last few months have simply flown by! This year John dressed up as Bumblebee the Transformer and Talyor was a "Big Fat Pumkin".

John's 6th Birthday Party

John decided he wanted a Plants VS Zombies birthday party. For those who have no idea what that is...its a computer game that John has fallen in love with that he plays at his friends house. Its all he ever talks about. In the game you plant plants that kill zombies- thats it. Pretty simple and yet very addicting. So for John's party we decided to "train plants"(the kids) on how to be succesful zombie fighting plants.

We took a break from training and had rootbeer floats and presents. John loved all his gifts but the highlight was recieving his own copy of Plants VS Zombies (Can you tell he was excited?)

Taylor's First Day of Preschool!

Taylor started preschool today! He was a little nervouse as we walked in, he insited that I come in with him. Once he hung his bag and found the kitchen set to play with he was good to go. He gave me two sets of hugs and kisses and waved goodbye. He as grown up so much from a year ago. He would not even let me leave his side ever! When I picked him up after he said he really liked school and his favorite part was playing on the playground. I am so excited for him. He finally conquered the dreadful potty training days just in time. Here are some pictures:

So a couple weeks ago we went up Cedar Mountain with Wayne's parents and sister to check out some land a friend purchased and to have a cookout. While we were there some kids brought over water snakes. John and Taylor loved it. John had to hold one...which surprised me a little. He loved every minute of it and on the way home he asked me if we could get one-a snake. I informed him no such reptile will ever be in my home.

Later on we stopped off the highway by a cute little stream to have dinner. These were some really cute pictures of the boys playing in the stream. These pictures capture my boys silly personalities so well. What cute boys!

So John decided while mom and dad were at the temple he wanted to run on the treadmill at grandma and grandpa's house. Needless to say he ended up in a fight with the treadmill and lost-didn't feel very good to say the least.

First day of First Grade!

So it was John's first day of school yesterday! He likes to say: "It's my first day of first grade mom!" He thought he was pretty clever when he came up with that. I thought it was pretty cute! For about a week before school started when I would ask him if he was excited for school he would get a very sad face start rubbing my arm and say "I am nervouse for you" how cute is that!! I think he was nervouse for himself but for him to say that was so preciouse-pulled on the heart strings. But when the day of school arrived he didn't even want me to drive him to school he wanted my neighbor to (we car pool and he wanted it to be her week) but I told him it was his first day of school and I would be taking him. He absolutely loved his first day of school! he said it was "GREAT!" He loves that he gets 3 recesses (one being after lunch), P.E. twice a week, that they have a big screen tv in their room (a projector screen), and that he has friends from last year in his class too. I am so glad that he loves it! I hope he continues to like school for years to come!

So I am such a dork- this is a picture of John's first lunch! I have never made school lunch before and I was pretty excited for myself. I also wrote him a quick little note that he brought home and showed me- he read it to me and gave me a big hug! How sweat!

A Moment of Gratitiude

Since Taylor turned one we have had him in a program called "Early Intervention" through SUU. Taylor wasn't crawling at one, he wouldn't eat any food, (he would only take a bottle and when food was offered he would gag and throw up when we tried the food)and he couldn't talk. Just finding out about this program was a huge blessing- we were about to take him to a specialist in St. George and it was going to cost a pretty penny. Early Intervention has been completely free for us. We were able to have Taylor work with a physical therapist, speech therapist, & food therapist who each came to our home monthly for the first year and then worked with him in a class room setting for the next year. Taylor has improved leaps and bounds and I can't express my gratitude enough for the program and the people who have helped me and my son. The letter below is a thank you I gave the workers- it lists some of the things Taylor couldn't do when he started and things he can do now. What a difference it is!!

What you have done for my son “m”eans “M”illions!!!
There is so much more that you have done for my son than is listed below, thank you for helping teach him and me how to release my son from the chains that held him captive. Thanks to you-I have my son; a happy, bubbly, cheerful, loud, silly boy- and he has his life too. Thank you- more than you will ever know. -Teona HUmphries

Can I just say I HATE HATE HATE THIS QUESTION!!! I have been asked this question time and time again. I thought after loosing 50lbs that this question would assist. But NO- in the last two months I have been asked 3 times!!! I think all these people could have been asking for other reason other than the size of my belly (which I do still have a little pooch) but STILL that question is SO SO SO hurtful and discouraging especially after loosing all that weight. Brian Reagan my favorite comedian has a joke about this very thing and I wanted to share it in hopes to spread "the rule"... "the rule for this is to not guess at this EVER EVER EVER EVER....." to see the joke go (Here)

Coloring Noodles

John has been So Bored not having school, his mom recovering from surgery, and this morning Taylor woke up sick-so all the fun out door activities planned went out the door for today. What to do... what to do... John and I went searching online for some ideas... This is what we found:

Coloring Noodles- I found this on my freinds blog.

Father's Day Gifts

My sister Telsha came up to visit today to make Father's Day crafts. We met at Walmart to pick up our supplies- this was an adventure with four kids. Telsha had them all in her cart and I had one with the supplies. She had many people stop and ask her if they were all hers- one lady was suprised they weren't becuase "they all have the same eyes". Anywho we found a bunch of random Fathers Day Crafts online and put five together for a Super Fantastic Father's Day Basket (which better be greatly appreciated- after all the work!).

Here is each of our projects that made up these fantastic baskets:

Creating a Music Video

Our neighbor brought us an invitation for their annual film festival and potluck. They want each family to make a 3-4 min. video to share that night. Wayne doesn't have much time between work, school, and his church calling so I came up with a puppet music video show,featuring the song-"Old McDonald Had a Farm"- where me and the boys could get all the props ready and then film when he was home. It was SO MUCH FUN! Granted the boys after only one take decided they were done- during that take you could see Taylor's entire face and at the end John knocked over half of the backdrop- Very Very entertaining and funny. No perfection made in this family. We will probably win worse made film- but it was still fun. I don't know how to get the film online but once I figure it out- probably after the festival, so we have it can debut there, I will share this video with you.

Free Fishing Day

Last Saturday was Free Fishing day so we thought we would take advantage of it and take the boys. The Lay Hill pond was holding an activity for kids- they gave out free t-shirts, bait, borrowed out polls, and had free drawings for prizes. We had so much fun. The fish were biting like crazy- alot got away before we could real them in but it was still alot of fun. Like this one they caught it and it jumped all over the place and then got away.

Crafting - I love copying others great ideas!!

Craft Number One:

My girlfriend posted on her blog a GREAT IDEA to take old clear glass flower vases and spray paint them. I just bought this new dresser for my hallway and needed something to decorate it with so I decided to try out her idea and see what I could come up with. Went to the Thrift store and found this large vase that I thought would be perfect. After an hour of looking at spray paints the boys convinced me purple was what we needed to go for. (I do not exagerate when I say that I spent a LONG time looking at spray paint- there was a guy that came up to me and asked me "if I was still looking" -nice huh)Here are my photos- I totally forgot to take a picture before I started but I got one right after my first spray. The flowers came from Kelsi's wedding.

Craft Number Two:

The same crafty girlfriend had another fab. idea that I just had to try. Pringle can bracelets!! You take an empty Pringle can cut it into 1-2 inch strips. Then paper mache them to add strength. Cover with fabric or ribbon- or whatever the heck you want to! Here are what I came up with- the blue and yellow were the ones she made. So much fun! Thanks Erin for all the Great Ideas!!!

My Lucky Charm

I found this idea on thedatingdivas.com! I love this website it has so many fun ideas on how to keep dating your hubby! They suggested that even though St. patricks day isn't a Holiday for gifts-why not make it one! So I bought some green things around the store and some Lucky charms! Wayne has been working nights 6pm-6am. It has been pretty hard for him. I hope him coming home and finding this basket on the table will help him have a great St. Patty's day!

Clarissa's Mission Call!

Wayne's little sister recieved her mission call yesterday. We took a quick trip to Enterprise last night to be part of her opening it. She will be serving in the San Antonio, Texas Mission. She will be English speaking but we are all pretty sure she will get to use what Spanish she does know while she is there. She leaves on June 15th. She is really excited as are the rest of us. Congrats Clarissa!!

Kids say the darndest things!

So last Friday was SUPER (wink wink) fun. I had been working on my sharing time most of the day for Primary and the kids and I were getting pretty restless so I decided to try and get a few errands done before my Chiropractic apt. In Primary we started a new thing that if the kids bring their scriptures than they get to add a penny to the jar and when it is full we give it the Bishop to go towards Book of Mormon fund- anywho John was way excited about this and wanted to bring scriptures to church with him. So we went to DI to see if they had a scripture case and some scriptures. We found a really cute case for him there but didn't have any decent scriptures so we decided to check at Deseret Book (now that I think about it the Distribution Center was next door to DI so this whole upcoming fiasco could have been avoided by just going there) anywho! So while at DI Taylor was really upset that he didn't get to get anything and let me and the rest of the store know- that was just warm up I guess. When we got to Deseret Book we went to look at the scriptures and Taylor decided he wanted to read the scriptures to so he grabbed a set and started thumbing through. Well most of the books Taylor looks at get ripped so I told him he couldn't look at the scriptures right now took them away and put them back and he starts throwing a fit!! Not just a little one either- he starts sreaming at me "I Want To Read The Scriptures!!" So how do you react? Totally not okay for him to act like this at the store but you don't want to encourage him not to read the scriptures either!! Love kids!!! So after we got out of that store. I had my apt. They have a little play room for kids where my kids were playing while I was in the waiting room. All of a sudden you hear them start to fight - John yells "I Am A Child Of GOD!! and Taylor then replies "I AM A CHILD OF GODD TOO JOHN!! lovely huh! I am so glad they know they are children of God but really?? My doctor came in right after that laughing and say that had just made her day (so guessing everyone heard wasn't too off) - she gave me hug knowing what it is like to be a mom :). Man oh man...Kids say the darndest things!!

February's Atempts...

This month I found some cute ideas online and just had to try them out. Well I would say that I didn't quiet do as cute of a job but they all worked out pretty well, I was going to post the comparision pictures but was struggling to find them again online.

First I found this new website and it had this yummy valentines smore recipe so I had to try it. You buy the heart marshmallows put on grahmn cracker crust and dip in chocolate- sounds pretty easy huh! That is what I thought too. Well it wasn't easy so I did the best I could with what paitence I had. Everyone that had one said they tasted really good so that is all that matters right. :)

I found this cute idea in "Parent" magazine and thought it would be fun for John and I to do together for Valentines cards. You take alphabet building blocks and spell out a word and color over with a crayon. They turned out way cute and John had alot of fun with this too.

The next one I had to try was a baby sling for my niece. My friend made one and posted a picture and the directions online. Again it sounded really easy but when it came down to it I had to go over to her house and have her explain it to me. I think mine turned out really cute.

Telsha my sister came up before valentines and found this really cute idea on The Dating Divas web site to make for our boys for valentines. They too turned out really cute and were not too hard to make thanks to the website that had done all the work for us. :). By the way if you have not checked out this website I would highly recommend it~

Okay so I am so excited- today I was just dying to craft- i remembered this idea I read in the Friend this month so the boys and I busted the crafts out and had some fun! Here are some picts of the fun. Below is the Friend's article that gave me the idea-

Box of Love
Each week in February, hang this box of love on a different family member’s door. Throughout the week, put things in the box that tell or show your love for that person. You can leave a note, a drawing, or a small treat. If you like, invite other family members to add to the box and share the love!

1. Cut off the top flaps of a small cardboard box, such as a small cereal box.

2. Cut out a piece of colorful paper or wrapping paper the same height as the box. Wrap the paper around the box and secure with tape or glue.

3. Punch a hole near the top of the two short sides.

4. Tie a ribbon or string through the two holes to make a handle to hang the box on a doorknob.

Kelsi's Wedding

Well Kelsi got married on Jan. 22nd. The wedding events started the night before with a wedding dinner where close friends and family enjoyed a dinner and program together. Then Sat was the big day! It was such a wonderful day! The whole day just went so great! The sealing was so special with tons of our family there and the reception- well it rocked! It looked beautiful (if I do say so myself) and it was a ton of fun! It was so great to see so many old friends and lots of family members. We are excited to welcome Emil into the family! My boys absolutely adore him and are excited to have a new uncle. Here are just a few pictures from my camera that day- I will have to post some from the photographer because I am sure she got alot of better shots!

I DID IT!!

This year I have been working with some family and friends on a weight loss blog- where we can have people to report in to as we work on loosing weight and making more healthy choices. This was my post from this morning:

Well today was my weigh in and I DID IT!!!So I lost 2.2lbs this week to reached my 50 lbs!!! in fact I reached 51 lbs lost!!! This gives me a total % lost since Jan. 26.53% lost!! That is a quarter of me!! Wow! I have 1.2 lbs to get to my year goal of 140 and I am so excited to get there! I never thought I could but one pound at a time one day at a time I did it! HOpe everyone else is moving forward on their weight loss goals- if not do it now- it is a choice to improve your health- JUST DO IT!!

Kelsi's Engaged!!!

I just wanted to let everyone know that Kelsi is Engaged! She announced it to everyone Nov. 20th! She has a beautiful ring and a great fiance! Emil Cluff if a great guy and we are so excited to welcome him into the family. They are getting married Jan. 22nd in the St. George Temple. It has been so fun to start planning a wedding again- at least for me I am only involved in all the fun stuff- wedding dress shopping, brides maid dress shopping, picking out colors :). Well I want to wish Kelsi and Emil the best in all to come!!

This week Taylor has started to put full sentences together (which is huge, he has had therapist working with him for the last year to help him get talking) and has said some really cute things. These were a few that I thought were really funny.

I was cleaning out the car and pulled out a bag of m&m's- Taylor pointed at them and said "m&m's! I love m&m's!!

Taylor was placed in time out and he yelled at me "Your not being nice!" over and over again. I had to leave the room because I was laughing.

While changing Taylor's diaper he pointed to a staute of Christ and said "Look mom, Jesus Christ Amen!" I thought this was so adorable!!

These are John's 5 year photos I snapped of him and one I grabbed of Taylor because I couldn't leave him out. I can't believe how grown up both of them are. John officially started kindergarted and is loving it! I let him ride the bus home and he loves that too! He is all of a sudden afraid of being alone, being in the dark, and afraid of monsters. He used the word "whatever" for the first time the other day- that was fun! He loves to be Taylor's rule enforcer- which is also fun :). He is on a soccer team and is doing amazing! His last game he scored three of the four goals! He wants to start basketball next and I not too sure he will be as good in that sport- I will keep my fingers crossed for him though. Anywho just had to brag on my growing boy for a min.

Family Vacation August 4-7

Wend Day 1-
~Traveled to Lehi
~Stopped to have a Picnic in Nephi and stretch our legs
~Checked into our hotel
~Headed to Sandy to have dinner at the Myan
(Watched people dive off rocks at the Myan- the Boys loved this- didn't so much love the food which was very expensive)
~Boys kept requesting we go back "home" meaning the hotel and go swimming.
~So rented a red box
~Went to get into the pool and 5 min. in saw lightning so we moved our swimming into our hotel room. Kids got into the tub with their swimming suits and swam in there.

We got hit by a major hail storm- pretty crazy- we thought our cars windows were going to be knocked out but luckily they held up.

I got a call today from "Lins Market" saying that John had won the Coloring Contest he entered in and to stop by the store for his prize. So I was thinking a bag of candy or a balloon... Yea not exactly:

John's Coloring Contest Prize! This thing is not light either- it has to be at least 20lbs! John can barely carry it, pretty funny to watch actually! :)

Don't worry we made sure "Chick" the chicken (the name John gave it) was safe on the way home! :)

I have been doing a blog challenge with some friends and family and it just ended. Here are my final results:

I will go ahead and post my final results: this challenge I lost 9.8lbs for 6.06% loss. Since Jan. I have lost 40.2 lbs for a 20.92% loss.

Not only have I lost 40lbs but I ran a 5k- something that I have trained for since Jan and always wanted to do: I finished 6th in my age group and 18th overall- I ran it in 31 min- which means I ran 10 min miles! This was my fasted time! I am just so excited to finally be taking charge of my life and my body and doing things I have always dreamed of doing.

I had a friend ask me to help her put on a Bake Sale for some friends of ours in our ward that have been out of work for awhile now. I agreed and it is ALOT of work to put on a bake sale. Luckily- our ward is awesome and they jumped in and helped out- they made alot of great treats and we were able to raise $400! We were both really excited about this! Anyone who knows me knows I love to yard sale! I love to find great deals and new treasures! Well today I wasn't even yard saleing just stopped by three on the way to home depot and got some awsome deals! Just had to share!

So first great deal was I found this play set for the kids:

The other great deal was I got a nebulizer and a humidifier for $13.00!!! Nebulizers are SOOO expensive! I just hope it works, you always take that chance when taking people's word! We have rented one every year since we have had kids and now we own one!

Saturday of Easter Weekend:

Saturday morning we went to an easter egg hunt in Cedar City then we headed to Quail Lake for a day of sun and fishing! We met up with all of Wayne's family that afternoon and had a picnic and afterwards hung out. Some of us fished, some sun bathed, some played in the sand and some played in the water. Later the mom's put on a little easter egg/candy hunt for the kids. Not that we needed anymore candy but it was alot of fun for the kids. We wrapped everything up around 5 so Wayne could head over to the Priesthood Session of General Conference. What a fun Saturday!

Friday of Easter Weekend:

Wayne and I decided to go and check out Silver Reef in Leeds, a co-worker said it was a really neat place to go. So we packed a picnic and headed out friday morning. We invited Telsha and her kids to come join us. We found a great little spot off the road and enjoyed our day. Wayne, John and Skylee climbed up big rocks and Telsha, Jaston, Talor, and I hung out and enjoyed the sun- probably a little too much. We all ended up with pretty pink faces when we got home. After our picnic and hiking we decided to drive up the canyon more and discovered a childrens trail, it was fun. We walked the trail and along the way there were signs identifying the plants and trees along side it. At the end of the trail we came across a kiln. John is already been asking when we can go back.

Teona's Final Weigh in Results!

Our first set of compitition is done and I wanted to post my results, this is what I blogged on my weigh in blog- just copied and posted.

Well here it is... drum roll please.... this week I lost 3.8lbs! this gives me a % of 2.25% for the week and a total of 27.2lbs and 14.15% I also lost 1 1/2 inches- the whole inch around my belly- thats where I need it most. Man oh man did I kick my butt this week but it feels great especially after gaining last week. I can't wait to see everyone's numbers!

Weight Loss

Well I haven't been around for awhile because I have been busy with another blog. I am doing a weight loss challenge with some of my family. We have to post on the blog daily to report how we are doing and with this I have not had time to work on my own blog. So far I have lost 12.84lbs wich is a 6.76% loss. I am also training for a 5k in May (Boulevard Home Furnishings does a 5k each year anyone that wants to join me I would love the company)- I can now run 2 miles. It just blows me away because when I started I could barely run 90 sec. before I thought I would die. Well that is what is going on with my life right now. I will try to get caught up soon. The other delay is Wayne bought me a Cannon rebel camera for Christmas and I have not been able to get the picts on my computer. So when we figure that out I will have some picts to go with some posts. Hope everyone is doing great! Talk to you soon.

Pine Nut Picking

On Saturday we decided to go pine-nut picking with Delaun, Truston, Krystal and Trayce! It was alot of fun! We did really well too! After many years of not finding any or getting out too late we feel like we sure scored this year. We found a great spot out by Jackson Wash and we spent the day there. We picked and picked, the guys shook a few trees that helped move things along a little faster too. I was a little worried about how Taylor would do- he at first just played in the dirt but by the end of the day he too really got into the whole pinenut picking- and helped pick them up it was so cute! We did have our fare share of added excitment though- I don't have any pictures because I was sent off to direct traffic but Truston and Krystal tipped there truck over on the way out there. They met a truck and trailor going around a corner slammed on their brakes which made the truck fishtail and they went up the side of the mountain tipping the truck over- luckily the truck and everyone inside was fine- just a few new dents in the truck is all. Cedar Mountains' Fall Colors!

On Saturday with some of Wayne's Family we drove up to look at leaves on Cedar Mountain. I am so glad we went when we did - I am sure the storm last night blew alot of those leaves off. It was so Pretty!! We found this spot with lava rock near Navajo Lake and I went a little camera crazy- here are some of the pictures I got.

Sickly!!

So sunday night my little boy John got sick and started throwing up so I was up with him, then my husband came down with the shivers and started to get sick and then after being up the whole night with them I got sick and started to throw up as well! My Taylor is the only one that wasn't.- I pray he doesn't get it! He was such a good boy - he got to watch movies all day long (which I am sure helped), but he didn't whine and complain that we were all laying around not playing with him. It was quiet the site all of my family just laying around - it really wiped us out! I think we may have had the swine flu I am not totally sure- whatever it was it was terrible!! I am just barely starting to feel better but am still so weak! I hope no one has to go through this!! If you do I am so sorry!

Thought I would share one of those "i'm an idiot" moments with you!! Okay so I decided today that I would try for the first time to make french bread to take to a lady I visit teach. In the process of adding the flour some got caught on the side of the bowl and I decided since I had done it many times before that I would quickly push it down with my hand while the kneader was going. Well my hand got well run over and carried away with the kneader. I had to go to instacare to have it x-rayed I thought for sure it was broken but it's not, I might have fractured it, those can show up later sometimes, but I am doing a little better now. It is wrapped and I get to ice it for a few days and take ibprofen for the swelling and pain. What can I say!! Except "I am an idiot"! Lesson to be learned - dont put your hand where it does not belong! Just turn the darn thing off or use a spoon!!!

Kids Pond

On Aug 8th we decided to head up Cedar Mountain to "Kids' Pond" it is this great fishing pond for kids under 12. We didn't catch anything while we were there though the fish are too trained. The water was so clear you could watch the fish come right up to your line and turn away, it got pretty frustrating to watch. The view was beautiful. I would highly recommend it to anyone up that way. Here are a few picts of the day:

24th of July

Okay so I am trying to get caught up on my blogging and what has been going on the past few weeks. So this blog is about the weekend of the 24th. We traveled up to Monroe where they have lots of fun stuff to do. On the 23rd we went and checked out the 3 on 3 basketball for a little bit (it goes on all night) and then I played cards until like 3 in the morning with my cousins (Wayne and the kids crashed- it had been a long day- but I can't pass up cards!). The 24th we had the parade and park events in the morning then we played some more cards, volleyball, and attended a broadway review that some of my cousins sang in, one in particular Garrett Johnson was AMAZING... watch out broadway here he comes! Later that evening we played water balloon volleyball had dinner and a water fight, celebrated Skylee's Birthday, fireworks at grandma's before the big firworks and then firworks after at uncle Tracy's house. On Saturday the 25th we went up to Fish Lake. We have wanted to go there since we were married and thought this was a perfect opportunity. It is so pretty there and peaceful too. I would love to spend a whole weekend up there just taking pictures. We hung out the rest of that day with family and then headed home. It was a great time with the Johnson Family, cant wait till we do it again!

Okay, I need some thoughts on this... Taylor has been beating his head on the ground everytime he gets mad or doesn't get what he wants. He has a huge bruise on his head, well his whole forehead looks like a big bruise and I don't know what to do to stop him. I talk to him about how that hurts and not to do it, but then he just does it again. People are seriously going to think I beat him! I will have to post a picture tomorrow. I am just fed up with him acting this way and not sure how to get him past it. If you have any ideas let me know!!

In Cedar City there are so many fun events all through the year. One of our favorites is the July Jamboree - this is where there are tons of hot rods to check out and vendors all down main street. We had a great time hanging out and checking out cool cars. John's favorites are well like almost everyone we saw, he is a big fan of race cars/cool cars. John also got to jump in a few jump houses/slides. He wasn't too happy when he had to get off but loved every minute he had on them. here are some picts of the day:

I had to run to the fabric store and they have these little cars for the kids to drive that are attached to the carts, well while I was shopping and someone else should have been driving... a lady working at the store commented that it isn't safe to sleep and drive... and pointed to John. John enjoyed his first year of preschool. He has learned so much and I am amazed at how fast he is growing up into a big boy. He knows all of his ABC's, the sounds they make, how to sign each letter and one of his favorite games to play in the car is "the letter game" this is where he identifies what letter a word starts- he is really good. He can now count to 50 (with a little help here and there), he knows all of his shapes and colors too. He went on some fun field trips this year, some included going to the dentist, going to the post office (where he sent his first letter- which was "Flat John" (an outline of John on paper that we colored and vut out) to Aunt Kelsi and had her take pictures of Flat John), he also got to go to Maggie Moos a ice cream shop here in town where his class got to make ice cream and then mix in their own mix. What a fun time he had! He is looking forward to next year!

This is so funny to me. I had recently looked at a friend's blog where she had pictures of her daughter sleeping in these crazy positions in her crib, I just laughed when I saw them they were so cute. The next day I found Taylor in his crib in a crazy position so I just had to blog about it! I don't know how he could possibly be comfortable that way. A few days after that I was downstairs and heard the boys upstairs laughing so I went up to see what was going on, I found Taylor swimming in blankets and stuffed animals that his brother, John, threw in there. The funniest part of it all was when I went to take the picture Taylor put his fingure to his lips as if to say "shh dont tell" so cute!! I love the fun times with little kids!

We found a Home!

I just wanted to share the good news!! For those that haven't heard yet we had a bid accepted on Monday March 23rd for a Cedar Park Townhome in Cedar City.After a year of looking! We will be closing on it April 23rd. We are very excited to own our own home. it is aprox. 1350 square feet, 3 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath, it has a laundry room and a beautiful kitchen with granite counter tops and tile. We are not sure the exact date we will be moving but probably the weekend after closing.We feel very blessed, we know Heavenly Father has been watching out for us and helped us get this home right at the right time, Wayne will be presenting his senior project the same week we close on the house, over with school and a new home to start on a new road.

John, Taylor and I decided we better enjoy this beautiful weather while it lasts. We played in the pool in our backyard yesterday and today we walked to the park and played soccer and went down the slides. It was so nice outside and we had alot of fun together! It made me sad to hear that the weather is supposed to turn cold again, but it was nice to get a little taste of whats coming- SUMMER!
